  1. NOT for Induction

Before low carb, I drank soy milk instead of regular milk because I prefer
it - tastes yummy, can be stored in the cupboard before opening, eliminated
my PMS, etc. So last year I didn't have any soy milk. I did try looking for
some, but didn't see any that did not have sugar added, and gave up the
    search.

I found some!!! It's called "Soy Slender" and it's made by West Soy. There
is no sugar added. I bought some vanilla, and I bought some chocolate.
Both are 1g net carbs per 8oz serving. It is sweetened with splenda.

They were even on sale for $1.25/carton - so I bought 3 chocolates & 2
vanilla's. They do no have to be refridgerated until after you open them,
and their expiration dates are Oct 2005. So I can tuck them away into my
cupboard until I want some. 🙂 I love that, because it's so much easier to
keep on hand than something that must be refridgerated.

So I just wanted to share my find with anyone else who misses soy milk.

Or you can get a soya milk maker and make your own!

AND you can use the okara (japanese word for what's left when the beans are
juiced) for baking the soy muffins. But watch out you don't overdose yourself
with the soya beans. Too much of anything is bad.

Can you tell us how many calories are in 8 oz? If it's less than fat-free
milk I'll look for it in the stores.

    Thanks

I agree with you that soy can be overdone. I hate tofu (awful, nasty stuff,
terrible texture, and I do NOT believe it soaks in the flavor of what you
cook it in - I've even tried it at restaurants because I'd heard it praised,
I still think tofu is awful). So, my only source of soy is soy flour (which
I don't use very often - maybe once or twice a month - because on LC I don't
bake much, or soy milk (which, now that I've found a new source, I'll
probably drink a few cups a week).
    Mmmmm. Soy. 🙂

70 calories (same for vanilla & chocolate)

    http://www.westsoy.biz/products/slender.php

The website lists the ingredients and if you click on the nutrition facts,
you can see the breakdown for that as well. Oh, and I forgot to mention
(because I don't drink coffee), it's also available in cappuccino flavor.

Thank you. That's 20 calories less per cup than fat-free milk. And I love
    vanilla and chocolate. :-) ~

I love tofu. I believe it's the texture that turns some people off. It's like
some people don't like mushrooms thinking that they're slimey.

I make Belgian Waffles using Soy Flour and freeze them. Try to have
at least one a day. I also buy Post's CarbWell made with soy flour
and try to eat half a serving a day.

Just looking at Tofu is hard for me.

  9. Have you ever heard of Prycena? A high-protein calcium drink with a
fat-burning ingredient. A very good addition to a Atkins-type diet.

Here is a video clip that aired recently on CBS news:
