The start of the second stage was given at 12h35 form the Camel RaceTrack for the 133 riders of the Tour of Qatar 2005. After only 3 kilometres, 3 riders managed to break away from the peloton: Kaggestad (CA), Bos (SHM) and Tjallingii (MPC). At the first intermediate sprint (km 22), Bos beat Tjallingii and Kaggestad while a first counter-attacking rider, Morocco s Rhiele (ALJ) was 3 05 adrift.
