I know this is a long-shot, but I figured I'd try...I'm going to be in
Europe for a couple weeks in May, and would really like to do some kind
of race over there (10K or less). I looked on activeeurope.com but
didn't find anything suitable--does anyone know of any other web links
where I could find listings for races in Europe? Specifically, I will
be in Paris, somewhere in Switzerland, and Salzburg. Any help would be
appreciated...

Ok, first have a look on Courier en France
(http://www.courirenfrance.com/). Click on "Coin coureurs" and "Guide
des Courses". Greater Paris is the Ile de France region.
For Switzerland use the following url: http://www.swiss-athletics.ch
This site is available in French and German. Click on "Events/Termine"
(ou "Events/Dates"😉 and then "Calendrier" or "Terminkalender". Now you
may choose between locations, dates or distances.
For Austria (Salzburg) you may have a look on http://www.maxfun.at/
This pages are available in German only. Click on "Terminplaner" and
choose between distances (5km, 10km , HM , Marathon and all
distances "Alle Distanzen anzeigen"😉, or locations (Bundesland -> click
on Salzburg), dates or disciplines (Laufen means running, Strassenrad
is cycling and Langlauf equals cross country skiing.
