  1. Just got the email, in it they say:

"To exchange your Kryptonite lock: Put your lock(s) and at least 1
    working key into a box."

Do they mean the whole lock or just the cross-bar?

    Thanks,

    Kyle

I sent the whole lock, and got an upgraded complete lock in return.

Neither their website nor their shipping instructions are explicit
about this, but the experience has been that they're shipping the
whole lock with the U regardless of whether you return the old U or
not. Given that the U on mine is a little bent anyway, I just packed
the whole thing when I got my shipping label via email this morning.
If I get the same U back, it'll still work; if I get a complete new
    lock, that's good too.

It must be the season. I just got mine last night too -- after at least 4
    months.

I think they just recently got the capacity ramped up to where they
could really handle the volume of requests. They appear to have hired
a contractor to accept the returns and ship the replacements. The
shipping label for my return is going to a packaging specialist,
rather than to one of Kryptomite's facilities. That's a common way to
do something like this, but getting the production in place, and the
fulfillment contract arranged, doesn't happen overnight. Once they
got those details covered, the logjam could be cleared pretty
quickly...and it looks like that's what's taking place, as the lead
time for me was only about a month. I got my shipping label today.

I sent the whole thing, and got back a complete new lock. It was
wrapped in a sealed plastic bag, so I doubt that they are even set up
to send only a new crossbar.

Are they replacing like with like? For example, I have one of the "lite"
models, which I can carry in a jersey pocket if I really have to. I hope they
don't give me back a 3 LB boat anchor.

I sent in two locks: an Evo 2000 Mini and an EvoLite. I received in
exchange an Evo 2000 Mini and a KryptoLok (a larger, heavier lock).
The EvoLite isn't listed on their web page anymore, so one presumes
    it's no longer in production.
