2x or 3x? 28h paul high flange hubs to semi aero rim

  1. I am aware that 32h goes with 3x. What about 28h high flange hubs with semi aero 700c rims? From a pic of a 3x laced 28h wheel it looks like there is no overlapping of spoke head over the next spoke at the hub. I am concerned about the angle at which the spoke exits the rim though. I did some basic trigonometry calculation, and this angle comes out to be a little over 6 degrees (from perpendicular).

    I suggest 2X with 28H, especially with higher flanged hub.
