  1. I recently discovered this cable channel called Megahertz, which used
to be WNVC or something. They're the ones with 'Water Rats' from Oz.
They have a wide variety of international programming. Anyway, I
flipped to them at about 9:50 PM and I found the perfect r.s.s. short
film. There is sound but no dialogue.

Here is this large, fairly busy public pool. This young guy walks out
of the locker room (in a speedo-type briefs and goggles) and starts
doing butterfly. He's not an elite, but he moves along OK. The young
cleaning lady is watching him. As he sits under the hair dryer, she
mops around him, but he ignores her.

She borrows a flowery bathing cap and starts to swim at night. Some
time later, he's flying along, but something goes wrong and he starts
to drown. The lifeguard is preoccupied in his office watching a soccer
goaaallll! on tv. She starts to jump in, but instead she throws him a
float and hauls him in. But the camera reveals to us that he can't see
her clearly. Next day, she pretties up, wears earrings and all, but he
walks right past, wearing his glasses. Oooh, too bad, he doesn't know
    who she is!

But, then she finds his thick-framed glasses while mopping and figures
out just how poor his vision must be. She decides to make a more
direct approach. She abandons her mop cart and goes for a dip. She
swims under him, brushing against him. He follows and they stare at
each other under water. She smiles, turns and swims away. He follows.
Still underwater, they fade from view into the indistinct mist of the
    shallow end of the pool.

The show is called The Short List www.theshortlist.cc but I can't find
a complete list of their programming. From the names in the credits,
I'd guess that the short was German, Swedish or thereabouts.
