It is a shame to see Vingegaard's season end this way. Vingegaard and Visma-Lease a Bike confirmed he will not race again until 2027 after a Tour de France crash left him with a fractured collarbone. He still had a great 2026, winning Paris-Nice, Volta a Catalunya, and the Giro d'Italia.
As someone who enjoys helping new riders get comfortable, I know that recovering from an injury is all about patience and getting the basics right before pushing for peak performance. I wonder if taking this extended break gives him a cleaner path back to top form, or if such a long layoff will cost him the race sharpness he needs to challenge Pogačar?
What do you think his ideal program should look like for his return in 2027?
