  1. It is interesting to see Cypress Mountain Resort announcing a bike park reopening slated for 2027, with additional trails coming in 2028 and 2029. The original park ran from 2005 until it closed to prepare for the 2010 Olympics, so it has been a long time coming. Gravity Logic will be designing and building the new park, and their co-founder previously managed Whistler Bike Park. They plan to use the Raven Ridge and Eagle Express chairlifts to get riders up the mountain.

Before the construction starts in November, Cypress will host a Red Bull Hardline round in mid-October. This level of attention on the North Shore brings up the ongoing discussion about lift-served riding in the area. Between the legacy of the original park and the new build, there is a lot to consider regarding how this fits into the local scene.

Will the Gravity Logic build at Cypress define the modern standard for lift-served riding on the North Shore, or will Grouse Mountain remain the more relevant comparison for local riders?
