Yes, and some protein-rich foods common in Oriental cuisine are also
believed to stimulate the same taste buds. From a personal point of view, I
would blame the MSG as the amount of soy sauce I add is minimal, if any, and
I've *seen* those videos of chefs ladling in the glutamate a tablespoon at a
time... Actually, I don't really suffer from the need-another-meal
syndrome.
Now, having researched this, I'm off to find some blue food dye, punch hole
reinforcements and a magnifying glass, to see how sensitive my tongue is !
