Bourke St. near King St. this arvo about 3.30 a VERY nice fixie but the owner had no time to yak AND he got away before I had a chance to give the bike a good looking over...:-) I'm sure I've seen pics of it but it looked soooooo much nicer in the flesh - a really elegant bike that looked FAST even while locked up. The machine positively reeked of effiency - me wants one but me smuggling yet another bike into the house could well see my state of health taking a distinct turn for the worst.
Hmmmm I wonder how the Moulton would go as a fixie or SS...:-)

No idea about that.. but who was taking the black fixie for a spin around Hawthorn 'drome this arvo? It was 'street' - setup with brakes and the frame was resprayed but had Cannondale-esque seatstays on it. It was definately fixed, some youngish dude was riding it. I don't think it was you Nick but it _was_ black 😉

You've got a Moulton? Are they really that good?
Yep I've got a nice little APB S7. I reckon it's a bloody brilliant bike especially in traffic, it accelerates nicely, has QUICK handling, suspension at both ends and can be punted downhill at extreme speeds...:-)
If I'm working in the city which is more and more common lately I'll use the Moulton every time over the old grey bike. If I'm working out at Tulla I'll use the old grey bike but only because I have to cart more [censored] if I'm working out there. If I had a rear pannier rack for the Moulton the old grey bike would be somewhat neglected for commuting use. The only drawback is REALLY, REALLY WET feet if it's raining.
I'll do the picture thing tomorrow when I get home around lunch time.

cant remember a black one. unless youre talkin large Surly 700c with disc?

Nup.. I'm pretty sure it was a 'dale (not many other company have those style curvy stays) and I'm pretty sure it didn't have discs. I know it was black with road levers but he was on the way out as I arrived..

What are those cards they all seem to place in the spokes of their rear wheel? Do they serve any purpose or just a bit of courier-chic?
VERY sexy blaaaack. VERY shiny high flange hub up front and a REAL clean drive train but that's all I really noticed. It's a VERY clean or freshly built up bike.
It's one of the nicest bikes I've ever seen if not THE nicest...:-)

yep, hipps is right, they are entrycards for alleycats. If it is organised it will be a nice one with the image from the ad for the alleycat on one side and your call and call number on the other. If not organised, just the image. Always laminated of course.
