This may be of interest to cyclists as some people seem happy to link the two sets of users, despite the legal differences in pavement use. I've not quoted the whole article.
Also, some of the feedback responses at the bottom of the page seem to be typically anti-cyclist.

Some people have missed the point Allen Jones was making. The regulation of cyclists was an example to show how ridiculous regulation of wheelchairs would be.
8mph on road is an annoyance, not a danger. In the event of an accident it is the wheelchair user that gets injured. As for comments about unsafe overtaking, how hard is it to safely overtake something 3 feet wide travelling at a max of 8mph?
As for being uninsured, if they can afford these things they can afford to pay for your scratched bumper out of their own pocket.

However they may not be able to pay for the medical fees, lost wages, etc when they break someones ankle whist driving them on the pavement.

Sign seen this afternoon in Newmarket -- "Half Price Pot Sale!"
It also said the location of the sale was "Kitchens & Things", but they show no sign of supplying anything in the pot line that wasn't made from clay....
On the positive side: this afternoon's showers over East Anglia managed to avoid Newmarket, so I could cycle there for the Saturday shopping.
Even more positive: leg speed is at 100 rpm, unusual for March.
