Well, I never tasted Ensure before, or thought about it until your
recent post. I have now been (doc's orders) living on that and
Gatorade since Friday. Today a group is meeting for the "Spring is
here" intro to picnic season. Ham, deviled eggs, baked beans and tons
of junk. I will be drinking this foul brown liquid. You did this to
me.

I despise the stuff, but I do see how someone could like it. I
remember it from '99 when I had a compound jaw fracture and was living
on the all-liquid diet for around 5 weeks (at which point I graduated
to hummus and tabouli, chewable food was another month or so). I
tried Ensure for a while, but eventually settled into a routine of
beer and smoothies from Crazy Carrot (a now-defunct chain of smoothie
stores in Minneapolis). When you hit the same smoothie bar three
times a day for weeks, you learn about a whole new level of regularity...

At one point my friends did have a cookout, and helpfully made me a
bratwurst smoothie, which was one of the most vile concoctions I've
ever seen. 🙂

Hey Michael - the last time I checked (today) XNews was a news reader,
not a news server, so don't blame it.

What you need to do first is COMPLAIN like crazy to your ISP about this
problem and demand they shape it up or find a better news server for
their subscribers. If they aren't interested, find yourself another
ISP... if that's impossible, there are still choices - but one of the
best news servers doesn't carry binaries, which means no ABF for you.

Exactly. Are they doing high-end graphics for a new movie? Are they
satisfied with doing nothin but buying a bunch of software and being
relegated to the task of mindless mouse-clicker? Happy to be out of
the mainstream? I can think of no other reasons to buy a Mac.

Ease of use and lack of crashing, corrupt files, viruses, worms, etc.
They also show "true" color a plus for web designers.

A good example was yesterday when I updated my personal web page. All I
had to do was drag and drop my files using Fetch and I was done. On the
PC I'd have to search for the correct directory before adding the
files. What used to take 10 minutes now takes less than a minute.
Literally within minutes I had finished my web page update with so
little effort.

Macs are bullet proof and the best operating machines. Hopefully the
rest of the world will realize how wonderful they are.

I don't have a web page, so I wouldn't know. Sounds like a real dream
though. What program do you use? Hot Dog?

Uh, no offense, but you're telling me just because you have a Mac, it
read your mind and knew exactly where everything was supposed to go?

I'm using NVU or Mozilla to update web pages. I do know some HTML, but
not much, but my kids are teaching me. Some day I hope to write my own
web pages from scratch. I've used Hot Dog, long ago, and it is a good
program but when I used the program it was some what limited.

I use Fetch to drag and drop the files I need which are easily found on
a Mac. I've used other PC programs which were not as good as Fetch.

I like both PCs and Macs but the more I use the Mac the more I like the
machine.

AlleyGator I think what I wrote was fairly clear. Perhaps you had a
problem understanding how easy it is to use a Mac. I like both Macs and
PCs, still have a couple PCs I use, but the Mac is a wonderful machine
that does not depend on Windows which is unstable. Also the Windows
program is a security worm hole.

Macs are relatively stable and secure. Wish more people understood how
reliable Macs really are.

Remember Apple was the first company to bring about the personal
computer. It wasn't Bill Gates and it wasn't IBM.

enough beer to get the consistency right.
