2005 Iditarod Trail Invitational is finished

  1. The last person on foot in this year's Iditarod Invitational crossed the
    finish line at 9am today after starting Feb 26. Overall he finished 3rd
    and was 2nd in foot division.

    "The most challenging part was that he had to make his own trail for
    about 200 miles on snowshoes, not even a dogsled trail to be seen. 5
    days on the mighty Yukon of which 3 days with 75 miles winds was
    horrendous. "

    *not* barefoot, I'm sure of that 😉 He slept on icepack at -30F the
    other night when he had to make his own trail - no, I don't mean the
    blue gel ice packs.
