A few months ago, I had a test which compares the omega 6s & 3s in my blood. The healthy ratio is about 2 to 1. (Average Americans' is 11-1, while mine was nearly 15-1.) Since taking the fish oil, however, it seems I feel worse, physically and menally: strange aches and soreness, stomach cramps, mild headaches, fasciculations, mood swings, irritability . . . basically the opposite of what they say this stuff is supposed to do. Is this normal? Or is this just a breaking-in period thing? (I don't take any medications.) They say this stuff reduces inflammation. Isn't that supposed to EASE soreness?
Is it possible I can be having an adverse reaction to reduced inflammation? (I say that because on the few occasions when I took over the counter anti-inflammation pills -- this was long before I took the supplements -- I had the worse muscle stiffness and soreness that I'd ever had in my life!!! (After riding my bicycle 30 miles, I felt like I rode 3,000 miles non-stop!!) Any ideas?
Find another source for your Omegas. I had some trouble with some of them also.
You may be getting solvents used in the extraction process of the oils. This is very common for cheaper brands to use toxic solvent to extract more "goodness" out of the source. I haven't heard of this from flesh but who knows. I break out in skin blisters and acne from certains brands. It takes weeks of supplementation to find this out. These are minute quantities that accumulate.

Read some of my old posts. Search for montygram. The bottom line is that there is no good evidence for putting this fatty acids, which are highly susceptible to lipid peroxidation while inside your body, in your body. Just cut back dramatically on your omega 6 consumption, and forget the omega 3s altogether. If you don't do what I am suggesting, you are in for horrible problems. Do a www.pubmed.com search for lipid peroxidation or oxidative stress for starters and you'll see what I mean. Your body does make a polyunsaturated fatty acid, called the Mead acid, and that is all you need. I stopped eating omega 3s and 6s, except in trace amounts in the food I eat (which is more or less unavoidable), 4 years ago, and the health benefits are incredible. I was raised on corn oil, so my body my messed up, and as you get older, it really tears you apart. The essential fatty acids claim is based on an experiment done on rats in a completely flawed setup back in 1930 (Burr & Burr). Rats may need some omega 3s and 6s, but humans can only be harmed by these fatty acids, except in trace amounts.

I seriously doubt this was done at any reputable lab and I would question anything generated in self interest as far as vendors. It is just not done routinely and I have not heard of it.

Aside from the otherhave said, if your body does not metabolize oils properly, they can make you feel like you have the flue! That's the way I used to feel. Is your throat soar? Have your tonsils been taken out? You may need sulfur to "balance" your oils. I would stop the oils and use MSM. Start at 1gram/day and increase by 1 gram/week (unless you notice pains in your lower back telling you to slow down due to your kidneys being overloaded from the detox process). You should be able to reach 3-6 grams a day without lower back pain. Make sure you are drinking plenty of liquids to help your kidneys along. Once you are up to that high of a dose, oils should not present a problem unless of course, they are inferrior brands, and are toxic.
