These claims have not held up to the light of science.
Aspartame is very safe.
It doesn't have an impact on weight (i.e., you can drink as much diet soda
as you want and not gain weight).Jeff

substitutes is that it doesnt 'retrain' my brain wiring. Meaning I'm
eating sweet stuff therefore I want more, fake or not. And for some
reason diet sodas especially make me crave more sweets. If I limit or
dont even eat any of the fake sweet stuff, I find I enjoy the real
stuff more in smaller amounts which becomes more satisfying and easier
to control.joni

when I drink regular soda. That's why I drink Diet Pepsi. However, each person responds differently.
Enjoy your regular soda. I will enjoy my Diet Pepsi (and Diet Coke when that
is all that is available).Jeff

Actually I dont drink any soda at all these days because the diet ones
increase my sugar cravings and the real ones have too many calories.
When I referred to fake sweet stuff I was thinking of some other
products sweetened with aspartame and or Splenda. I would rather have
'the real thing' in small amounts than the fake sweetened stuff. Like a
fake Entemanns cheesecake or the real stuff - there is no comparison of
satisfaction levels :-)joni
