  1. I get a bad taste in mouth for 12-24hours after eating chinese food. I
don't get the funny taste with other food. I don't think it is MSG
because I had it before and did not get the taste.

I get that taste in almost all the chinese restarants. I suspect it is
some preservative that they are using. I cook chinese food everyday at
home and never get that taste. Does anyone know what they put in the
    food?

    thanks
    Andrew

If it keeps happening... why on earth would you keep eating it?

The probable common factor is fat. Almost all Chinese food
is stir-fried, meaning that almost all is started in hot fat of some sort.
It may be that you are sensitive to an overload of fat and since
Chinese has more than most other cuisines that is what you feel.
For reference do a Google on the CSPI study on Chinese food
and its fat content. Just about nothing else is going to be found
in heavy degree over different restaurants unless they are under
the same ownership, which is not that unusual.

If you have an aftertaste for 12 to 24 hours, there's something going on
that has nothing to do with ingredients. Nothing will give you an
aftertaste through a sleep and into the next day, assuming you live
    anywhere near a toothbrush.

You have MSG virtually every time you eat processed foods.

Ignorance is a silly thing to continue to live with. Why would anyone
put a preservative in food to be served immediately?

Why would anyone be so happy to demonstrate such a deep lack of research?

Restaurants typically have hundreds of ingredients. What a profoundly
    silly question to ask.

My suggestion is to never eat Chinese food in a restaurant again. Bozo.

Most Chinese restaurants use those very large woks that are made of
iron rather than carbon steel. You are very likely having a reaction
to excess iron dissolved in the food... could be due to a medication
you take or simply just a reaction due to your particular body
chemistry. Also, for people who smoke the reaction to metals is usually
stronger... especially with copper... many smokers discover that simply
handling pennies triggers a bad taste in their mouth.

My feet are killing me. These shoes are too tight!

    Why do you wear them?

Because it feels so good when I take them off.

Cheap oils could be the culprit. Soybean is a common cheap oil that has an
unpleasant taste/aroma to some people. One chinese place where I
occasionally go says that they use corn oil. Their food tastes better.
