Works well enough for some of my major races lately--some of my best friends from Hawaii to Germany
are from triathlon. I try to give back much more than the cost of lodging. Actually find it more fun
that being by myself. Stayed with a first-time Ironman attempter in Utah last year, and despite the
horrible weather, had a good experience with his family and speaking to the local tri-club.
I figure people reading here are already pretty crazy. And by the way, you can make a living in this
sport as a coach or race promoter. Not so easy to live in prize money or endorsements--yet. But I'm
in it for the fun, not the money. Most of coaching clients already have a lot of money, yet they
still do this crazy sport. It's not as expensive as golf, there's always that.
I don't go through IMNA, just directly the community. Actually, I'm easier to get along with and
less demanding that pros, or so I was told the last time. I can relate more to the average
triathlete, and I'm not climbing the walls with tension. In fact, some of my other clients will be
racing at Ironman CDA, and I'll be as concerned with their performance as my own.

Yes folks, stay away from this type of rabble. Your children should be playing Basketball,
Football, Tennis, Baseball...and now that we've seen a 13 year old Soccer player get a $1 million
deal from Nike....you can add that sport to the list of big-bucks upside. God help you if your kid
gets the tri bug.
PS Tom (on a serious note): Can IMNA help you with homestay? I wonder how the pro's get this
locked down?
