so many intelligent, educated people to vote? How did they prevent
stupid people from voting? Can this information be used to help the US
in their next election?

You'd only have to do a little research to understand that in Aboriginal
society was definitely owned by clan groups. Just because people live in
different parts of their estate at different times of the year, or allow
others to use their land (with permission) doesn't mean they don't own
it.

Now to get this back on topic, as a cyclist you can get some
understanding of the process of dispossession. It has happened to us
over and over again. Of course the complexity and depth of relationship
to land is not nearly as deep, nor has dispossession of cyclists led to
such major impacts, but I think that we all feel angry when we find that
even those little bits that we have made use of get taken away for road
projects.

Maybe we can look for inspiration to the techniques and tools used by
Aboriginal people in their struggle for rights. After all Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander people make up only about 2 per cent of the
population and cyclists make up only about the same proportion of the
traffic stream. It would be interesting to see how a small, marginalised
groups manage to succeed politically and have their voice heard.

If you were to do that small piece of research you would find that they did
not care what anyone did on the land, they only cared about possession of
the animals on it.

They did not have the concept of land ownership and did not feel any need to
give or get permission to enter or leave land.
