  1. Jan Ullrich's website states that he has separated from the mother of his
    daughter, Sarah.

Jan and Gaby agreed to the separation.

here's the link to his website.

Huge surprise, since most insiders in the peloton insist Jan doesn't care that much for women anyway. I mean, the earring and all, puhleeez.

  3. Even before the separation, the T-Mobile website describing JU had said:

    "Marital status Single, 1 child"

I appreciate JU is not married to Gaby. However, it's kind of unusual to state that one is single when one has a life-long companion girlfriend that is the mother of one's child. 😉

Dont understand this. What has wearing an earring got to do with "not caring much for women"?

  5. I really don't like the way people are commenting on this. This is Ullrich's private business, and yet you Disco Lance fans just make sneering comments towards him. Leave the guy alone and just worry about how's he gonna be doing at Catalunya.

I agree wholeheartedly. However as a footnote, it might have some effect on his (mental) preperations for the tour, and as a result the second win all his fans think he deserves.

yeah it probably will, but it's still no excuse for people to make tasteless comments about it. It isn't nice for anyone when a long relationship ends, so show some respect.

If you don't get it, my explaining won't help.
Not that there's anything wrong with not liking women.

I mean this thread has taken on a seriousness reserved for the selection of the pope. Lighten up all you Ullrich fans. Obviously it's not a happy thing for him, and I recall all kinds of trash and rumors thrown around about Lance during the divorce and later with Sheryl most in good nature.

Yes the only question for us is how it will affect his Tour. Most indication point toward he's doing perhaps as well as he ever has since 97 so maybe the long time away from girlfriend helped.
