Its interesting, though there's not a casual link between introduction
of gun control and the rest (though its suggestive, I think gun control
has been in effect there for decades, so if it were a direct cause the
erosion should have happened much sooner). Moreover
but I'm not sure it means much outside of Britain. Anything
to do with gun control (ie crime rates, murder rates, accidents etc) seems
to be totally dependent upon context (which is why I love to bring up
Switzerland as an example of a country with a very high rate of small
arm possession and a very low crime and murder rate). Same thing
works here; Swiss rights are almost exactly the same as Germany's;
one doesn't have gun control, one does ... I think you'd have to do the
same study independently in a country to see if it applies to the country.
I see gun control as bad in its own right, but I'm not so sure it has much
to do with erosion of other rights.
