Subject: Vegetarians are Unhealthy for Health Care

Vegetarians are Unhealthy for Health Care

Vegetarians are unhealthy for a health care system
which relies upon diseased people for cash flow.

"Type 2 diabetes mellitus is less likely to be a
cause of death in vegetarians than non vegetarians."

American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 1988

"Mortality from coronary artery disease is
lower in vegetarians than in non vegetarians."

    British Medical Journal, 1994

"Breast cancer rates are lower in populations
    that consume plant based diets."

American Cancer Society Cancer Facts and Figures,
    1994

"Vegetarians have a lower incidence of hypertension
    than non vegetarians."

American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 1994

"Incidence of lung and colorectal cancer is lower in
    vegetarians than in non vegetarians."

American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 1994

"Vegetarian diets low in fat or saturated fat have
been used successfully as part of comprehensive health
programs to reverse severe coronary artery disease."

Journal of the American Medical Association, 1995

"Vegetarian diets have been successful in arresting
    coronary artery disease."

    American Journal of Epidemiology, 1995

"Scientific data suggest positive relationships between
a vegetarian diet and reduced risk for several chronic
    degenerative diseases and conditions...

Journal of the American Dietetic Association, 1997

Modern health care seems more to be about insurance costs
and cash flow than good health. It can be argued that the
cure for what ails society's financial, health, and spiritual
failings is the adoption of a plant-based diet. Scientific
data published in peer-reviewed journals supports that
    conclusion.

  3. 1 Hour of Research on Medline, and you could come up with just as long
of a list on the dangers of restricting your diet to "plant-based
foods" only. It may be better than the "typical american diet" in the
short run, but the human body is not genetically designed to eat plant
    foods only.

  4. Don't worry, they've already come up with a plan to deal with
vegetarians, which really got rolling around 1990. They started to
market the highly biochemicallly unstable omega 3 and 6 polyunsaturates
as "essential," even though the literature on the dangerous of
polyunsaturates is massive, and ther is basically NO literature on the
    dangers of supposed deficiency.

Also, garhi is correct, in that many plant foods are high in toxins
(not just polyunsaturates) and enzyme-inhibiting substances. And,
while most fruit is great, even in large quantities, you will need to
eat other food as well for high quality protein, etc.

how many toxic plants do you find in an average diet?
polyunsaturated fatty acids are not toxins- or can you give me the LD50 of
    these?

1990?? Really. Didn't know US research was that behind European and
even Indian (in India, not amongst Indians in US) research.

First time I heard about biochemistry was in 1975 and was joining a
guided tour in the institute where I met a group working about both
essential fatty acids, but also about bad effects of the elongated
version of Mead acid, erucic acid (which in fact body may produce from
Mead acid and do, one of the bad sides of eating too much omega-9
acids compared to omega-3 and omega-9)

Arachidonic acid introduced directly in a rat vein, a few mg.
