  1. I saw it all over the Giro. Tyler and LANCE and quite a few others ride on the hoods. Jan was
pushing in the dropouts, at least for a time.

Is there a nice quick condensation of previous debate about why many Euro pros climb in
    the dropouts?

They were climbing on the dropouts??? Man, there arms and back must be real sore stretchng all the
way down there! Not even Boardman rode that low.

    Mmm... areo...

    You mean the "drops", no?

I guess maybe they do it to try and keep the weight forward, and thus more like riding on the flat
(front wheel higher than back -> riders mass is shifted more over the back wheel, so maybe this
    position compensates slightly).

Personally, I cannot manage this at all. Even climbing on the hoods feels "wrong".

Assuming you meant to say drops: ISTR reading somewhere that Ulrich has done loads of work in a lab,
and reckons he can put out more continuous power for longer in the position he climbs in compared to
any other position. This also includes remaining seated all the way up, unlike Lance.

Conscientious objection is hard work in an economic war.

    Aye!.
