These wheels are a product of Shimano marketing and consumers who think they are getting more... but they are really just paying for BLING!... and more maintenance down the road.
Ultegra 6600 or the previous 6500 hubs with 32 spokes and some good quality rims like Mavic OpenPro or Velocity Aerohead + good spokes and a quality build will serve you much better and cost you less now and much less in the future.

Hell, if you can retune a machine build on your own you can get ultegra/open pros for under $200 at pricepoint I think.

Though of course you have to pay for shipping, which makes the colorado cyclist look better if they're still offering free shipping on their well bulit $254 ultegra/open pros.

It's comical to hear people talk about how cool a wheel looks. Ya ever try looking at a wheel while you're riding????!!!!!!

I think the WH-550 have similar hubs to the WHR-535's. The rear hub is near frictionless when broken in! So they are GREAT training wheels. Their only downside is that they're heavy, but I don't notice that and I have Ksyrium SL's, Campagnolo Eurus, and R535's.

It comes standard when I got my Giant TCR-2 carbon. I only use it for DISPLAY and not for PLAY😄 . I got a mavic COSMOS for heavy duty use.😉

Everyone's looking at wheels because they're standing around admiring their bikes when they should be riding them... 🙄
