Quoted message said:I see many good vitamin suggestions, and a lot of "Spam" which is high
in saturated fats, we all know... 🙂Using many excellent suggestions and methods I've learned here I've
lost much weight since 2001. Now I wish to do strength training to
put maybe 20 lbs of muscle on.I'm type-II diabetic Dx 2001, and 50 years old. My diabetes has
alyaws been well controlled. With little to no meds but much exercise,
my A1c is usually around 4.9-5.1. 🙂))I must admit I'm often a little fatigued, and feel weak. Two weeks
ago, I began taking simple multivitamins. I think it had 12 standard
vits plus 8 minerals. The next day, I felt like a new man! Stronger
and more energy. At the gym I saw much strength improvement. In the past, I believed vitamins are only helpful if a person is
missing something in their diet the vitamins replace. But I eat and
extremely well balanced diet. Plenty of fresh fruit, fresh veggies,
brown whole wheat bread, 8 oz or so of chicken breast or tuna, a
gallon or more water. March I had a very thorough blood test with 6
pages of reports. All is normal. To help me believe the vitamins were
responsible for feeling better, I quit taking them for 3 days. I
began feeling tired again, and weak at the gym.Does anyone have suggestions for what should be included in vitamins
to cover all the bases more thoroughly than a standard multivitamin? My first guess is there are no improvements to be made beyond the
standard multivitamins and my balanced/varied diet. Opinions...
please!Thanks
JThank you all for the replies. I am asking for a favor, so I
shouldn't complain. But I will... I got one pertinant reply,
referring me to a commerical product.Below is a list of what is in the multi-vitamin/mineral supplements
I'm taking. All are miligrams, except "mkg" are micrograms. I copied
the list from a French pharmaceutical site, but my package lists the
ingredients in Russian. I'm sure there is some "generic" information
to be gleaned here from you people's combined experience. Assume I
eat a diet balanced with many vegetables, fruit, whole grain products,
8-12 oz lean meat a day. And, a lot of water. Anything I should add
to this list? Thank you all again for the posts!Re'tinol (vitamine A) 1000 mkg

You sound like a bit of a dork. The idea of vitamins is not to take whatever
is going. You need to determine where you are deficient and take the
vitamins and minerals your system needs. There have been studies that show
that more is not better - that supplements often conflict with each other
and you are actually worse off by just popping all these pills than not. You
need to get assessed by a professional who can give you blood, saliva, maybe
hair testing and get your profile
