  1. I saw a documentary recently on Bruce Lee that had some footage I'd
never seen before, including video of him demonstrating one finger
pushups with his other hand behind his back. He did quite a few on a
fully straightened finger, the bottom joint bending back.

And that reminded me of another documentary I saw which was talking
about the power of mental discipline, and they showed a shaolin monk do
a hand stand onto just his index fingers with an assistant to help him
balance. His index fingers were totally extended with the bottom joint
    bending back

How do those finger joints take this strain? Can they be conditioned?

Of course. They obviously are. Just takes time. And helps to have light
    bodyweight too.

I saw a man do a 600-pound bench press. Can we condition our chest and
    shoulders and arms?

Yes. Everyone can get stronger. But not everyone has the potential for
    a 600-pound bench.

Sure they can be conditioned but how much did Bruce Lee weigh, 120?

I can do that with my penis. 50 penisups a day keep the ol' lady happy.

Bruce Lee was 135-140 lbs. for most of his adult life, I think.
Apparently through some bodybuilding training once got up to 165 but
didn't like it and dropped back to 135-140 again.

yeah its possible but have you seen some of the people? Get the
_extreme kung fu_ vcd from TCmedia. Look at the guys finger joints.
Holy christ. One finger and two finger zen are real skills but there
are levels to most of this kind of training. Its possible if you work
up slow, leaning against wall, increasing the distance over time
walking up a wall and then finally being straight up and down the wall.

However there is a qigong that goes with the training, they talk about
it in the shaolin encyclopedia but i've only seen a scan of the small
part. Looks like it starts off with the cosmic mudra or lotus palms
(dhyana mudra). Another posture which looks like a palms up chamber at
the ribs. Then two fingers and thumb form a triangle in front of the
heart. Then the two arms hang down in a squat. Then you start the
lean against the wall, ect. In fact, one and two finger handstands is
    a form of light body.

Which basically means, without getting to into it, its not about
hardening the fingers to support 100% of your body weight. But it
appears thats possible how most people are doing it. Then again, these
are small people your seeing. Bruce was all physical. No light body.

The sword finger mudra changes qi and promotes energy and balances the
electromagnetic yin and yang in the body. But you need to do it at
least 40 minutes a day for some time, where it gets faster and faster
to obtain the gong from it. You could test someone real fast to see if
they are really internal. Otherwise its acrobatics bordering on
    trickery.

Its talked about in some books but the original diagrams were omitted
which is a shame because many times the pictures conceal secrets to the
    training.

Just remember, you only get to see the guys who can do it
successfully. I don't know what the blast radius is for a finger
joint giving way ballistically, but I wouldn't care to witness it.
