You're a rather slipshod speller. You know that, don't you?

Not that I think the little [censored] is worth the trouble but if anyone wants
to complain to his ISP about this petulant child violating the Terms of
    Service: His ISP is

Comcast Cable Communications, IP Services EASTERNSHORE-1 (NET-24-16-0-0-1)
    24.16.0.0 - 24.23.255.255

    Complaints can be sent to:

ISP's don't always agree about what constitutes inapropriate use but it
might at least get his mommy and daddy's attention that their little
precious likes to throw tantrums online.

But what issue could he possibly have with Clare? I don't know her,
but from what I've read of her postings, she seems like a perfectly
nice, friendly person. Maybe he's jealous of her awsome commute?

Lowkey-Just out of curiosity, how did you determine his ISP? I'm
looking at "message source" (using TBird), if it's there, I'm missing it.

    Thanks,

with mozilla/tbird: View/Headers/all should give you some more info.

You're using Tbird version 1.0.2 btw--all kinds of information in those
    headers. :P

It isn't obvious. Every time someone sends out a message their ISP is
identified by it's NNTP Hosting post number.

Petulant child's ISP NNTP posting host number is: 24.18.157.251. This
number is in the range assigned to Comcast, specifically Comcast in the area
of Washington State and Eastern Shore. I'm not sure of where or what Eastern
shore is but I assume it is a local area name. There are utilities around
the 'net that will resolve the real ISP from the NNTP #. Not to creep you
out but nothing is truly anonymous on the 'net. He probably thought he was
safe using a throwaway anonymous account and posting through Google.

Bringing it to the attention of Comcast, they certainly can track the
specific account holder from there, which I think they would. Given that
Claire does live in the same area I think Comcast and the police would take
his threat as credible and very serious.

Again, Bob Hunt could probably say more about what the little [censored] could
    face from the authorities.

i said i was gonna flame people, not hurt em. jeez louise.

  10. SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT. Claire and her pals can tell me that I
should drown, that I should die, etc. Is that worse than flaming
someone? Flippin them the bird? I think you people suck, plain and
simple. That is not illegal, it is protected. If I said I was gonna go
hurt someone (WHICH I DID NOT) there would be a problem. Der!

Scared now that you realize you aren't hiding behind an anonymous account?

They have a word for someone who displays the bravery of making threats

Now go tell your real mommy what a bad boy you have been before the police

    I quote:

Sounds like a real life threat to me.

A sincere retraction and apology would go a long way....

  14. i am sorry for getting [censored] on usenet. i have had the worst week of
my life (personal family issues) and have been drinking too much and
taking out my aggressions on other people. my behavior is inexcusable.
though i disagree with you on some points, i never should have blown
this out of proportion like i did. it is childlike, hateful, and
destructive. this is not the type of person i want to be. when i posted
to usenet this morning, it was rock bottom. i truly apologize to you,
and you will never see me on your usenet forum again. thanks. i will
repost this on the net in both threads of which i was being a jerk.

  15. i never thought i was anonymous, i just didnt care.

Zoot-Thanks for the reply. I'm familiar with Sam Spade & whois, I just
didn't see the address anywhere in the header info when I first looked.
    I see it now under "NNTP-Posting-Host: 24.18.157.251" (duhhhh... )
