Ice Cream Dream
15 servings
Hands on: 10 minutes
Total time: 10 minutes
Think of this fun dessert as an ice cream sandwich casserole. To make
whipped cream, combine 1 cup heavy whipping cream, 2 tablespoons
confectioners' sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract in mixing bowl.
Whip with electric beaters until peaks hold their shape.
12 neapolitan flavor ice cream sandwich bars
1 cup chocolate syrup
1 (6-ounce) jar maraschino cherry halves
2 cups whipped topping or whipped cream (see note above)
In an 8-inch-square pan or glass casserole, arrange half the sandwich
bars in a neat layer (you may have to cut one or two of them). Lightly
press the bars to push ice cream to edges. Drizzle with about 2/3 cup
chocolate syrup and dot with half the cherries and some of the juice.
Spread with half the whipped cream. Top with another layer of sandwich
bars, press to edges, and then cover with remaining whipped cream.
Decorate top with remaining chocolate syrup, cherries and a little
drizzle of the cherry juice. Freeze until ready to serve.

Strawberry And Balsamic Ice Cream

Berry strange

Crazy Cook
Believe it or not, strawberries and balsamic vinegar make a great pair.
They
complement each other in this tangy, refreshing and fragrant dessert. It
tastes like a cross between ice cream and sherbet.
Strawberry And Balsamic Ice Cream
1 lb (450 g) strawberries, hulled, coarsely chopped
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup water
2 cups whipping cream
Adapted from Delia's Vegetarian Collection by Delia Smith.
In medium bowl, stir together berries and vinegar. Marinate 30 minutes.
In small pan, heat sugar and water over low until dissolved, about 5
minutes, stirring frequently. Turn heat to high, bring to boil, then
reduce
heat to low and simmer 5 minutes without stirring. Cool 5 minutes.
Add berry mixture and syrup to blender. Puree. Press through sieve into
storage tub. Stir in cream. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Churn in ice cream maker according to manufacturer's directions. Freeze
until firm.
Makes about 1 quart.
