  1. ALTERNATIVE CANCER THERAPIES.

After doing a considerable amount of research, I crystallised some of the
more basic alternate/complementary therapies that seemed to make sense, and
that are non-invasive, inexpensive, and without harmful side-effects.
I share these ideas with those who are interested, in the hope that they may
assist them in the battle against cancer.
As many strategies as possible should be implemented at the same time, so
that they can work in combination and reinforce each other, and so have a
    greater chance of success.
Cancer usually has been developing for a long time, sometimes years, before
it is discovered. Alternate therapies also take time as they attempt to
reverse this process. The situation should be monitored closely to see if
    there is any improvement.
Most of what follows applies not only to cancer, but to most other
    degenerative diseases as well.

    SPIRITUALITY
Spirituality is the most important aspect, from which all the others flow.

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" Hosea 4 verse 6.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just
as your soul prospers." 3 John 1 verse 2.

Many spiritual healings from all types of sickness, including cancer, have
been reported. Faith is the key.
See television channels such as the Trinity Broadcasting Network or others
    for spiritual upliftment and guidance.
Make time for God and pray together for healing and for help, guidance and
    wisdom.
Together with spirituality one must also do every practical thing possible
    to overcome disease.

    MIND AND EMOTIONS
Long repressed emotions such as anger, resentment, unforgiveness,
frustration, depression have an impact at cellular level, favouring the
development of cancer. Open discussion and forgiveness are essential.
Try to develop a positive winning attitude, listen to your body, and follow
only those strategies that you believe in..
Love, for yourself and for others, and happiness are powerful healing
    forces.

    ASSISTANCE
Good solid support from more than one source, both for the person with
cancer and the caregivers, is essential.
Consult an experienced nutritionist/therapist to assist and advise you.
Discuss alternative/complementary treatments you wish to follow with your
medical team and keep them informed.

    DETOXIFICATION
The body and internal organs must be in as healthy a condition as possible
    to overcome sickness.
Any of the following will have a negative effect, whatever the treatment:
Bowel problems: eg a clogged or sluggish colon or constipation. Such
conditions cause a build-up of toxins, and poor absorption of nutrients.
There should be at least 1 to 3 bowel movements per day.
    Parasites.
    Liver malfunction or gallbladder stones.
    Kidney problems.
Toxins in the body accumulated over the years from food and the environment.

There are simple and inexpensive methods to rectify these conditions.
    Examples:
To clear the bowels and colon: Herbal Fibreblend from the AIM company, Dr
Richard Schulze's Formula 1 and 2, Bentonite (liquid volcanic ash)>
To eliminate parasites: Para 90 from the AIM company.
To flush out liver/gallbladder stones: See www.curezone.com and click on
"cleansing" for simple methods using apple or citrus juice and olive oil.
To revitalise the liver Milk thistle (silymarin).
To flush the kidneys: See www.curezone.com "cleansing".

Be aware that detoxification may initially be accompanied by adverse
    symptoms as toxins are released.

    NUTRITION
Optimal nutrition is vital. Primitive people in rural areas with simple,
basic diets have very low rates of cancer, so it seems logical to try to
approximate their type of diet and lifestyle.
A vegetarian diet is advocated consisting of:
Raw, fresh vegetables and fruits (5 to 10 portions per day). Preferably
organically grown if available (or grow your own if you can). Cooking
destroys a large number of nutrients.
Juices of vegetables and fruits. These are quickly absorbed and provide
    concentrated nutrition without bulk.
Whole grains such as millet, buckwheat or quinoa, which are the only
    alkaline grains.
Sprouts (alfalfa, barley, wheat, etc) All sprouts are alkaline-forming,
even though most grains and seeds are acidic.
Almonds, which are alkaline and high in protein.
Cold-pressed flaxseed oil and olive oil, about 2 tablespoons of each per day
to provide Omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids.
Herbal teas such as Essiac, Pau D'Arco etc.

    Foods to avoid:
All sugar, honey, and any foods containing sugar.
All salt and any foods containing salt.
All meat, processed meat, chicken and fish.
All dairy products such as milk, cream, butter, cheese and yoghurt.
All processed foods such as biscuits, cakes, most breads. All canned
    foods.
All food additives, colorants and preservatives.
    Vinegar (causes fermentation) and dressings.
    All alchohol.
    Margarine, chocolate.
    All fried foods.
Any oil that is not produced by the cold-press method or that has been
    heated such as in frying.

Drugs: Stop taking drugs such as HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy), the
contraceptive Pill, or other non-essential drugs. Stop smoking.
Drink pure water without chlorine or fluoride, such as bottled or purified
    water.
Lose weight if overweight; the recommended diet should help to accomplish
    this.
Use natural toothpaste, soap, shampoo etc without chemicals. Avoid
    microwaved or radiated food.
    Replace mercury amalgam tooth fillings.

    JUICERS
Vegetable and fruit juices should be made with a good quality juicer. The
common and inexpensive centrifugal type does not provide a good enough
quality juice as its high speed destroys enzymes.
Press-type juicers (eg Norwalk, K&K) provide the best juice, but twin gear
(eg Green Star) or single gear (eg Omega 8002, Solo Star, Samson) juicers
provide good quality juice and are less expensive and easier to clean.

    FOOD COMBINING
Different types of food cause different reactions in the digestive system.
Try to implement food combining: eating different types of food at different
times so that they can be digested independently. For example fruit juice by
itself will be quickly digested, but if taken at the same time as starch it
will mix with the starch and cause it to ferment. Sweet and acid fruits
should be separated. Fruits should be eaten alone. High protein foods (eg
almonds) should not be mixed with starches.
A simple way of implementing food combining is to allow say 2 hours between
different types of food. This means taking smaller portions of very similar
foods only at intervals throughout the day, rather than sticking to three
    meals only.

CREATING BODY CONDITIONS THAT WORK AGAINST CANCER
Some conditions that favour the development of cancer are:
    Sugar (cancer feeds on sugar).
A high salt and low potassium ratio is associated with cancer.
Lack of oxygen (cancer thrives in an anaerobic low-oxygen environment)
An acidic body (cancerous tissues are acidic, healthy tissues are alkaline).
The saliva test using litmus paper is a quick and easy way to determine if
the body is acid or alkaline.

These conditions must therefore be reversed:
Eliminate all sugar, honey and any foods containing sugar.
Establish a high potassium to sodium ratio by eating fresh raw vegetables
and fruits (which contain potassium), and eliminating salt (source of
sodium) and any foods containing salt. A high potassium to sodium ratio
will also increase the oxygenating capacity of the blood.
Establish a highly alkaline body environment by eating vegetables and fruits
and sprouts (wheat, barley etc are alkaline only when sprouted). Lemons and
figs for example are highly alkaline-forming in the body.
To quickly reach a high alkalinity consider supplementing with AIM
BarleyLife (extracted from barley shoots), which also provides complete and
    easily absorbed nutrients.
For more information on alkaline and acid foods see
www.nutrition2000.com/pHandDisease.cfm or search the internet using key
words such as "acid and alkaline foods".
Oxygenate the body by exercising, deep breathing, or by other means.

    In addition:
High dose vitamin C is beneficial. Preferably obtain this from fruits such
as raspberries (which also contain beneficial ellagic acid), raw guavas
(high in vitamin C), lemons, kiwis and others rather than supplements.
Fresh parsley is also high in vitamin C.
Raw organic vegetables (especially dark leafy greens and highly coloured
vegetables) contain a wealth of all types of nutrients in the right
combinations, which are better assimilated than in the form of pills.
Hyperthermia (long hot baths or other means). Cancer does not like heat.
Hot baths can also draw out body toxins through the skin. Sweating from
exercise or saunas also releases toxins.

    EXERCISE
Aerobic exercise is very beneficial as it oxygenates the body, promotes
blood circulation and lymph flow, and stimulates the organs. For example a
brisk walk of 1/2 hour or more per day, if possible, is recommended.
Fresh air and at least 30 minutes of exposure to sunshine (except for skin
    cancer) is recommended.

    CHANGE
A total change of place of residence, occupation etc may eliminate factors
that are contributing to cancer, but that are difficult to identify.
Leave your job if possible, particularly if it is stressful or unsatisfying.
Avoid all types of stress, get plenty of rest and do what you enjoy.

    FOR MORE INFORMATION
There are also many other types of therapy. It is important to be informed
about both conventional and alternative approaches and if possible to do
    your own further research.

Some sites about alternative/complementary therapies are:
www.curezone.com (includes methods for detoxifying liver, kidneys, bowels.
    www.alternative-treatments.com www.cancerdecisions.com www.mercola.com
    www.Gerson.org www.drday.com www.keepwell.com www.getandstaywell.com
    www.marysherbs.com www.cancure.org www.doctoryourself.com

The book "I Beat Cancer: 50 People Tell You How They Did It" is available
    from www.awarenesspublishing.com
There are many internet sites, also many books on alternative therapies.

Eg for books search www.amazon.com using key words such as "alternative
    cancer therapies".
Also search the internet www.google.com using similar key words for more
    information.

    Best wishes, God bless,

"Josef M. Issels, M.D. reported in "Immunotherapy in Progressive Metastatic
Cancer, A Fifteen Year Survival Follow-up" Clinical Trials Journal (London)
1970. 7, NO. 3, A Peer Review Paper, pp. 357-366, that of 370 patients with
various cancers who were given the Issels Treatment shortly after surgery or
irradiation, 322 (87%) were alive and well after five years without relapse
or detectable metastases. A restoration of the immune functions can reduce
the incidence of relapse from about 50% (World Statistic) to 13% by combined
    conventional treatments and comprehensive immunotherapy."

Even if there were such a "World Statistic" you would still be comparing
apples and oranges. Without knowing that the 370 patients were completely
unselected, randomised, and had exactly the same mix of types and stages of
cancer such a claim is worhtless. Not only that, but 87% overall five year
survival in those having surgery with the aim of cure of common cancers
    would not be exceptional.

When you see such stuff being used to pronote a treatment you can be pretty
sure it is quackery. A serious scientist would take pains to point out
the limitations of such a study.

A German paper from 1959 is said to show a 17 per cent five year "cure" rate
with metastatic cancer. I wonder why a translation is not given when they
go as far as putting an image of all the pages of paper on their site. I
will have it translated. I suspect it is not a randomised trial as stated
at Issels site. I also wonder why if they can cure 17% of metastatic
malignancy there is no recent data showing this. That would be spectacular
news, and I would be recommending this treatment to all..

  4. Shame the guy is dead, you could have contacted him and found out.
Can't you contact John Anderson, M.D and see why he lays claims to such?
    Or is he deceased also?
John Anderson, M.D., Teaching Professor at King's College Hospital, London,
reported 17% cures of histologically verified metastatic malignomas by the
Issels Treatment. The independent randomized study comprised 570 patients
with various cancers after all conventional methods were exhausted (General
Practitioner, March 1971, pp. 15-16, London).

  5. Any ideas why there is that 'magic' 17% consistency in all the studies done?
    Anth

From various samples on the Issels site.

An independent statistical study by A.G. Audier, M.D., University of Leiden,
Holland "Immunotherapie Metastasierender Malignome" Die Medizinische 1959,
NO. 40, A Peer Review Paper, pp. 1860-64, reported a 16.6% cure rate of
histologically verified metastatic malignomas by the Issels Treatment. The
study comprised 252 patients with various cancers after all conventional
methods were exhausted (World wide cure rate is 2%).

John Anderson, M.D., Teaching Professor at King's College Hospital, London,

with various cancers after all conventional methods were exhausted (General

Patients are treated only after they have undergone conventional surgery and
irradiation, and no conclusive results are claimed. From 750 cases who
    attended, 252 with a five-year survival were followed-up and of these 88
were studied for comparative investigation. Forty-two of the 252 (16.6 per
cent.) were alive and fully fit for work five years after treatment, and of
these 42, 39 were alive and well and showed no signs of cancer some 10 years
later, making a total survival time of 15 years.

Here is what one German speaker said. I don't have a full translation,
but think that it is unlikely to be profitable to look further. A lot of
clinical studies, expecailly in EUrope were very poor in those days.--

    i. They are talking five year survival, not cure

ii. The improved five year survival for breast cancer treated by the

Issels method over conventional treatment was significant at the 96% level,
    i.e. a p=0.04.

iii. There is no randomisation. The study is retrospective, and no dataare
presented to demonstrate that those patients undergoing "immunising" and
those undergoing "conventional" therapies were comparable.

iii. They pick breast cancer. An eyeballing of the figures for the other

cancers in Figure 2 shows that if they has done the stats on them, or on all
cancers together, the results would have been even less impressive.
