I know how you felt, and I'm sure others do. I've only done half way and hoping to do the other half in October. quote:- "it didn't seem too bad to me, just a bit soggy in places, but Michelle managed to find a particularly soft bit to bury one leg thigh-deep!" Hmmm bet that was exactly the same place I did it. All that way avoiding the "dangerous" bogs and got caught out by an innocent looking bit of moss right on the path almost near a marker if I recall, coming down from Tan hill. Still caused a bit of amusment....for my colleague anyway. Had the last laugh though the sole came of his boot next day.
Cheers Alan

Some pics (and my brief diary entries) from my 40th birthday "treat", for anyone that's done the Pennine Way, thinking of it, or just interested:
I'm the same age as the Pennine Way, but of the two of us I think the path's in better shape 🙂
I've started to add some general reflections and some advice for fellow softies considering it, but it's not finished yet.
Reading it back it sounds a bit negative at times, but I did enjoy it, honest...
I enjoyed this very much indeed - ta v. much for posting the link. I particularly enjoyed your wildlife piccies, and the cottongrass pic on the last day is lovely.
Many congrat's on the walk - it's pretty hard work! :-)

An enjoyable read with some nice pictures. After day three I kept expecting you to give up due to feet or legs, but you struggled on, and I struggled with you. What a relief it was when we staggered into Kirk Yetholm!
