Will USPS pull Lance out of trouble?

Is this team desintegrating? Heras, Beltran and Rubiera seem to be doing very little help his brave leader. It appears Lance will be on his own on the Pyrenees. Juani

Is this team desintegrating? Heras, Beltran and Rubiera seem to be doing very little help his
brave leader.
It appears Lance will be on his own on the Pyrenees.

Heras, Beltran and Rubiera rode a fantastic race today for Lance, USPS's tactics seemed impecible
apart from the fact that Lance just doesn't have the legs to exploit them.
How could they have done any more?

I've never seen such a good team in 25 years of watching the TdF. Problem is that in the mountains,
you're your own man when the bluff ends.
What else can they do, push him?

Lance wasn't just giving Jan lip service all this time when he was saying that Jan was the
strongest rider on the planet. The most talented rider doesn't always win. The most complete racer
does. That's why Lance has been able to beat Jan fairly easily. This year Jan was in shape to start
the Tour, and his head is in it. Now he is gaining confidence every day. Talent, fitness, and
preparation are hard to beat. Don't write Lance off yet though. He is one tough SOB when it comes
to losing. He may blow up and lose it by ten minutes in the next couple of days, or he may blow up
Jan. Lance is NOT going to fold. Bill C

Well of course. That would explain why he's wearing the yellow jersey.
Whether he goes on to take the race or not, he's still a remarkable athlete. He is hardly the
weakest link.

Have we been wathing the same 1st stage in the Pyrenees (TdF 2003!!) from the beginning to the end?
US Postal seems to be the best team money can buy and Armstrong is a fine athlete but yesterday
(July 19th) he showed some signs of weakness - probably as a reaction to the TT the day before. You
just had to look at his face during the Pyrenee stage - it was quite a different Armstrong. One
thing is for sure, if he really goes down he'l be a great looser, too.

Are you kidding? Heras didn't peel off 'till a minute or two before the finish yesterday. Rubiera
looked strong.

After Beltran pulled him over 2 cols and Heras came back from being dropped to lead out the last col
until his legs cramped ? Are we watching the same race ?

Did anyone happen to see Heras in total pain trying to keep the tempo high on the climb
yesterday? The guy cramped up so bad that he nearly took out half the group when he blew. This
was after working his ass off to get back to the group. Beltran has done the exact same thing
almost every day.
They gave everything they had to keep Lance as fresh as possible. I hardly call that abandoning your
team leader.
Maybe you could say they haven't been effective as in years past, but it also appears everyone else
came to race this year. Hard to say it is the team's fault.

What scares me is who is helping JU up the climbs? I don't really see too many green jerseys
around... LA always has 2-3 guys near him while Jan is by himself. Leads me to thinks that Jan is
the stronger man right now...
