  1. It seems the last time I had my wheels off for a thorough bike cleaning that
    I "sprung" the return springs on my cantis. I put a drop of tri-flow on the
    brake bosses and then "worked" the levers back and forth a few times to work
    the lube in.

    When I reinstalled my wheels three out of four of the cantis that would not
    spread to release because the springs were not pushing out.

    To fix this I just pulled the springs out to retension them to provide
    outward force.

    Questions - Anyone else have this happen? What did I do wrong? Will
    retensioning them like I did cause problems down the road? Did I hurt
    anything? They do seem to work ok.
