  1. When do you do laundry, clean your toilet, pay your bills? When do you
actually live your life if you are lifting 3 hours a day?,

Deb, im one of the lucky ones. i work at home and have alot of time on my
hands. No lady in my life currently either. thats a good and bad thing i
    guess.

What are your goals? Does lifting for 20 hours a week work towards you
    achieving your objectives in life?

Goals? I've been through alot in my life with illnesses in my 20's. I was
diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis (a crippling disease) when i was 22, and
i practically cured myself of it by eating only raw vegetables for like 8
months.. this is a very long story and i dont feel like going much indepth
with it. But being through all that i have so far has made me much, much
stronger mentally.. and now i want to even it out with mental and physical
strength.. I just feel its something i need to do for myself and i feel
great afterwards. I've never been a physically strong guy in the past and at
30 i dont feel its too late to start. I guess my anger stems from losing
out on alot of my life in my 20's which should of been the best time of my
life. before i was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, i had a girlfriend
and we both thought it was going to be longtime.. But the PA really messed
me up physically and mentally at that time. (this was about 7 years ago) so
now its like im starting from scratch again relationship wise. I could write
a book here but im not gonna bother. im just concentrating on myself. thats
    the main thing right now.

3 hours is a bit extreme for me but I could work out for that long and
then claim TO MYSELF that it was real work.

When I was a very young genetics student in a lab, I had a boss who
was a mathematical geneticist. He used to come with us to our "field"
lab at the marine station during the beach season. OTOH, I'd frequent
that lab even in the harsh winter because I had the freaking work to
    do.

I would dive in the morning to get mollusks, then sweat all day in the
lab like some kind of Geppetto. But my boss would just walk along the
beautiful coast of Sea of Japan, or take a swim. He'd say that he is
in fact working, "thinking out" his models. I envied his life so much
that I set to become a mathematical geneticist myself and went to that
education in USA. The boss was my great inspiration and remains one of
my best friends even to this day.

Last time I visited the marine station, we spent many lazy afternoons
in our now mutual habitual wallowing in BS, having a good time, making
fun of young students, ruminating on the problem of wheel discoveries
and on the issue of poking the proverbial frontier of knowledge (each
time you poke it, the frontier reverberates back dumping a load of mud
    in the face).

Life's good and full of responsibilities.

  4. DZ, i think thats great that your dream was to follow in his footsteps and
you did. Good job. Alot of people do not have the commitment like you do.

lol, he just wanted you to THINK he was working.. when infact he was just
calming his mind and gathering his thoughts. which infact is very important
for an idealistic job like that.

i didnt mention in my other post that i also created my own online business
and have my own home now because of it. its a pretty miraculous story. but i
am a low key kind of guy so i dont like to talk about it much.

So there i was at age 23.. no job, no money, no girlfriend, and a terrible
disease.. i was at rock bottom.

now, its completely turned around (except for the girlfriend part) because
of my faith and i guess part of it was luck. Alot of people tell me that i
should be "SO PROUD OF MYSELF". but i am never satisfied.. and theres
always room for improvement..(i think this mentality is also what pulled me
out of it) plus if i just retire, my brain will rot away. Even when your
old , you should never retire. always find something to occupy your mind or
else depression and sadness will find you eventually.
