I did think about mentioning the Angel at Hetton, but unless you're careful it's over-priced, and "over there" (Hetton in Malhamdale???? nearer Wharfedale, me thinks?). Besides, if it's Angel @ Hetton type accommodation that is desired, the Listers in Malham would be just as good (and cheaper?). The Listers have recently built new accommodation: I haven't been in it, but I hear good things about it.
We've stayed at the Buck Inn on many occasions and always had a pleasant welcome and a nice comfortable room (some with four poster beds). I did think that it was getting ready for a bit of a facelift the last time we stayed there though. Malham is usually very quiet after about 7:00pm after the day trippers have gone home. The best thing about staying there is being able to get up, have a hearty breakfast, put on the walking gear, and set off on a nice days hike straight from the door. There's always a satisfying meal awaiting on your return - assuming you're not vegetarian I can thoroughly recommend the lamb shank !
