  1. Saw a guy - big shoulders! - doing this with the 100s after he pressed 225 for
reps. He got to about a 45 degree angle, fought for a few seconds and racked them.

I asked him about it, assuming that the shoulders came from the big presses, but
he said that he'd made progress on the press only when he'd added the isometric
    raise to his shoulder routine.

  2. So....He was just doing lateral raises at 45 degrees and holding it
    there?

I remember something similar being described in an Arnold's
Encyclopaedia thing I saw many many years ago. It was called burnouts or
    something similar.

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:

He went as high as he could with dumbbells way too heavy to go all the way up with.

Did he do it only laterally or also front raises to highest he could?
You have 225 dumbells at your gym?

    Side, front, rear.
