Cross Nationals conflicts with World Cups

I know that Jonathan Page is very likely not going to go as a result,
especially if he is doing well in the world cup overall, which is a
really big paying series now with the new format.

Its time to move nationals to the UCI date. Period.

At least we have a date, that has only just been released by USAC. The
Providnce location is new, the original info was Boston area.

OK, east-coasters, what do you know about Providence courses? Any travel
info for us Rocky Mtn. crossers?

I was told by a Providence rider that it should be a really really nice
location. Hills, pavement, etc. Its not really in Providence though.
Its out of town. The site is down today, but it had nice maps and

only be good, IMHO.

Someone out there who knows the organizers tell me why we can't get a
city park on December 17-18? Is that high season for tourist in New

I feel your pain, but it ain't gonna happen in our lifetime. You can
go ahead and move nationals to January, but it'll likely be
snow-covered in New England. And you won't have any local races for 3
weeks beforehand (due to holidays) so attendance will be light because
most will have shut down for the year.

So if Jon's doing well in Europe this year (which we all hope for),
we'll probably have a new champ.

Doesnt change the fact that its a terrible weekend, and the VERY NEXT
weekend would be significantly better for Euro based riders. I had
heard that Trebon, Johnson and others were going to be racing in europe
this season. Is that not the case? I would assume they would want to
hit world cups.

Whole thing just seems silly. WTF is going on at Prince William Park
on the next weekend? We should at least ATTEMPT to use logic when
scheduling a major event. Of course, same problem with USPRO, right?
That is on the "wrong" day too. I am sure its not that simple, but...

I am just [censored] cause cross nats is my big weekend out, and of course
I want JP to be there for personal reasons. I only them him twice a
year as it is.

As for it being snowy in january, yah it would. It would be nice in
other venues though. And cross worlds in Czech Rep. were nippy. As
was (and will be again in two years) the Nats we had in KC. that was
stupid cold. even drunk, it was cold.

PS Alan - I wont be doing GMSR this year - going to San Fran for
"business" that weekend.
