And I'm a Trek guy, but I think he's right. I'm on a carbon fiber and boy I like it compared to a
steel frame. Depends on how much riding you'll do ( and racing ; ] )

Wow, JT! Let me take time to sincerely apologize to you for the absolute inconvenience of having to
read five text lines on the internet during your obviously already overwhelming life. The reason
that I say only five lines versus the numerous paragraphs I originally wrote is this: If it took you
more than five lines to figure out that this particular message was a waste of your time, then you
are about as intelligent as I assume you to be.

You see, I have been an avid cyclist for about 13 years. I realize that this fact might make me a
novice in certain arenas that you are obviously accustomed to. However, I would hope that since a
once exclusively road riding guy needed advice after a ten year hiatus, you would welcome the chance
to help his transistion back into the mainstream of road riding. This is exactly why I choose to
ride WITH my mountain bike buddies and commute through my own loneliness on the road...there are few
road riders that are able to release their grip on the pedestal that only exists in their mind.

Additionally, you could have made a slight attempt at answering my question after mentioning its
misplacement. I would have both learned a lesson about Google Groups and my future road bike
purchase. Then again, your knowledge of anything cycling probably abruptly ends at your ability to
log onto rec.bicycles.racing through this wicked tool known to us as Google.

My guess Wess is that JT know a heck of a lot more about cycling than you do.

As for getting advise about which bicycle to buy from this newsgroup I would advise against it. What
you are going to get is a lot of opinions about bicycles that each individual has. Just because
somebody likes their Schwin Cruiser does not make it a good bicycle for you. And just because
another person hates their $5,000 Colnago doesn't make it a bad bicycle. Also be wary of magazines,
I have yet to read a bad review of a bicyce in a magazine. You might check out roadbikereview.com

Sometimes, I'm not sure if you could make a good argument if you tried, Tom. It is fine to let

Have you measured your power output? What is your highest average power output for a one hour .

Do you use an indoor trainer in the winter? What kind of workouts do you do.

I'm trying to improve my average power output by 50 watts, I've been using a Computrainer on and off
since November, plus riding outside weather permitting.

Any suggestions other than to "[censored] off"? <g>

I would like to be brand loyal to Giant, as I have been for 11 years, but the guys at the shop
have been pushing the '02 Specialized. They say it is the best deal based on its markdown.
However, I have read (and would assume) that the '03 Allez 24 has gotten better since the previous
year. The '03 Allez seems like the best deal, and form what little I have been able to read about
these, is potentially the best. Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanking
you all in advance for your advice.
