I've had a problem for years but never asked about it - on my left foot, the
toe next to my big toe extends about 1/4-1/3 inch beyond my big toe
(Morton's toe). I always get a callous on the tip and/or lose my toenail on
this toe (next to my big toe) after after weeks of running. Usually the
callous builds up, but the toe is always tender after a run of 10k or more.
My shoes do not appear to be too small; if I increase by a 1/2 size (from a
12 to a 12.5 or from a 12.5 to a 13, depending on the shoe), the shoes are
too big. My right foot is fine.
I've never had any metatarsal pain from Morton's toe, only pain on the very
tip of my elongated toe.
Any ideas/solutions to this problem?
Thanks
