I am changing over from a double to a triple 9 speed.
I was wondering if a 6600 rear der will work
with 9 speed everything else.
Thanks,
Steve W.

Yep. Rear derailers don't care how many speeds, that's just marketing talk.

There are two 6600 rear derailleurs.
RD-6600-GS. Long cage, capacity 38 teeth.
RD-6600-SS. Short cage, capacity 29 teeth.
For use with triple chain wheels the RD-6600-GS is
indicated. Is that the model you have?
