tour of germany, hows jan doing ?

The first stage occurred and Jan and Bobby rode together. The course is
VERY directed to Jan's strengths if he hasn't lost too much fitness
since the Tour. Bobby is hot but with Arvesen out he's missing a key
man in the flat stages.

Bobby's best bet will be to stick to Jan like glue and screw him in the
final TT because there's a good bump in the road at the end of it and
Jan will be tired by that point in the race. CSC will have to stay out
of the lead and far enough back that they won't have to control the
race. After all, this is Jan's home tour and he'll have to look good.

yeah, I work nights and haven't had much time to follow up on all possible
sources of news. it just seemed the german tour was in the news for a few
days without any results being reported

Yeah, from the sound of your original post, it didn't seem like you'd had
time to go check out the news much, so there you are. It should be an
interesting tour, especially for the serious climbers. Maybe Jan will still have
some left in the tank.

Unlike Joerg Jaksche... how close was that? How painful was it to watch?
Crossed the line and still neither of them seemed sure who had won.

Jaksche blew it. He was looking back just about every 100 meters. It made
the difference.

climb, while there were what, 4 Gerolsteiners? In addition, he was nearly

Wow. What a waste, eh ? The guy has natural talent and abilty,but NEVER
fulfills his potiential. Despite the media attention he brings, I'm sure his
slacker 'tude must be discouraging for everyone else on the team- I don't
think I'd want him on my team.

Except it looks like Gerolsteiner and Levi have tossed a monkey wrench
into that strategy this morning. Hope they can pull it out and hand TMO
