I don't know whether it was serendipity or just great minds work alike.
Because I started out w/ some serious strength deficits and had a problem
w/ overreaching as a result, my trainer has had me doing a lot of work to
fill in some of the gaps - lots of stability work, abs (I was starting to
hate the captain's chair <g>😉, bridges, SLDLs w/ fairly low weights, etc.
At the end of the day, all the workouts were challenging and there were
definitely some where I felt it afterwards, but nothing where I really
felt like I was pushing the big muscles.
But, last night we finally moved on. Ok, I'll be the first to admit that
the weights on the barbell weren't exactly bending the bar, but by the 3rd
set of Romanian deadlifts I felt like I was definitely fighting to
complete the rep in good form.
It felt great. I don't mind doing cardio and as I get fitter I find myself
trotting up the escalators on the metro just because I can. I find the
stability and bodyweight exercises gratifying because I can see how far
I've come. But, I really just love weight training.
Just thought I'd share.
