  4. Very nice seeing all the new faces, it was a good crowd there tonight.

Had to leave before I became a danger to myself on the crutches though.

Hope you and Kathy will join us all again.

Yes, it was a jolly evening. Kinda turned into a aus.bicycle/PubBUG/WoJ/Critic*l M*ss gatecrash. Had about 20 people rock up with various comings and goings during the evening.

If you weren't present, we made an *Executive Decision* to make these informal little sessions into a forthnightly event.

ED made by suggesting the idea, thinking about it for approx 1.3 seconds, then yours truly slapping ones hand down hard on the table to make the decision final. All present agreed to the ED. See you all in a f/n, plus bring a friend.

Who's turn is the chip run next time? 😄

Hi all, it was a great night - definitely something we'll be doing
again! Everyone talked to us, even though I hadn't been to anything
bike-related other than the WoJ ride in the city a while ago, which I
really appreciated - bike riders are people, and they chat to strangers,
    and everything... 🙂
    See you again soon

Same here, PubBug's about the only bike social thing I do. 60km a day's
generally enough for me not to want to do much else, it's nice to mix
with other cyclists and chew the fat.

How does one find out about such stuff?

It seems that I only stumble across this sort of annoucements
on the day or the day after it has happened.

As far as I know this was actually announced a while ago on here - which
is how Dave and I knew about it - but you must have missed that. But as
was said by cfsmtb - see you in two weeks time! 🙂

There's no way this head-cold-flu-type disaster could last that long is there?? I think the cycling sweetie is around then too, without our usual mix of kids' and kids' sports.

    see you then!

Got time, bookmark one of these links below or read some of my WoJ related ramblings on aus.bike. McGees charged with conspiracy
    news.ninemsn.com.auarticle.aspx
    11:40 AEST Sat Aug 27 2005 AAP

Lawyer Eugene McGee and his brother Craig have been reported by police for conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Police revealed the pair would be summonsed to formally answer the charge in court at a date to be fixed, the Adelaide Advertiser reports.

Friday's police action follows a recommendation on Wednesday by Director of Public Prosecutions Stephen Pallaras, QC, to police that the pair "be charged with one count of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice or interfere with the due administration of the law".

Under Section 256 of the Criminal Law Consolidation Act the offence carries a maximum penalty of four years imprisonment. This follows consideration of the confidential 14-page closed report of the Kapunda Road Royal Commission.

The charges the McGees will face relate to their activities in the few hours after Eugene killed cyclist Ian Humphrey in a hit-run accident in November, 2003. During the royal commission, McGee gave evidence that his brother Craig alerted him when it was safe to go to their mother's Kapunda house after police had already been there looking for him.

Craig McGee had also driven McGee to Adelaide on the night, at one point stopping at a police road block at the accident scene.

    Hi,
Just a quick note to say thanks for the tips on braking on Fri night -
came in REAL handy yesterday at the velo! Youth and his mate doing laps
    - starting on the outside of the worst corner of the velo - and doing
one or two laps on the inside and across to the outside again to swap
over. They'd cut from low down to the outside in front of Dave and I
three times - and loud comments had been made... Then I'm coming round -
he looks at the track - and MUST have seen me - I mean, I'm not exactly
invisible 🙂 - but he sets off from the outside - STRAIGHT across to the
inside of the track!!!! So, I yell Oy - VERY loudly as he sets off -
then f(D(*YG(G Hell - as he comes directly across my path - he comes to
a stop - I use the Resound braking tips and actually slow a decent
amount - and get around him (fortunately!!!) Dave of course is following
behind me - so I continue on around (heart rate greatly raised and
getting the shakes again) to vague sounds of Dave threatening major
bodily harm should they repeat these antics again... Strangely enough,
they went home at that point...! I don't often support violence, but I'm
afraid this time I would have stood and applauded... The last thing I
need just right now is to fall off my nice new bike again!!! :-)

Hooray, I'm helping! Yeah, don't fall off again; that's no fun. You don't
get to play in the lovely gusting head/sidewinds. *mutters*
