Having just read some of the comments on the thread "True German View on Katrina" I realize that as an American, I have nothing in common with many of the forum members, especially some of those from the U.K. That they would be so indifferent to their fellow man, in a time of deep human tragedy for so many innocent people, is testament to their base nature, and low consciousness.
There is truth to the expression "show me the people you associate with and I'll tell you what kind of person you are".
For all of you who have been friends, it's time I say goodbye.

Agreed. Seems like everyone wants to jump down our throats and is looking for any excuse no matter how ridiculous.
It is nice to see that after a year away from this forum, it is still full of imbeciles, babies, moronic eurofags, and the like...good times....good times.
Not to start an argument or anything but I thought I'd just point out the irony of using a term like Eurofag and then quoting Oscar Wilde in your sig. 😄 He was about as straight as Lord Byron, Percy Shelly and Boy George. :eek:

Please re-read the thread - you'll see that there is some tongue in cheek humour regarding Americans in general, and some debate about global warming and whether this is linked to the hurricanes, but I don't think there's any indifference to the plight of the Americans in New Orleans.
There does appear to be some hostility from both sides when differing views are expressed, but surely that's to be expected in any debate which touches on politics. It's sad, but it's to be expected.

Perhpas that is the price we pay for killing so many Jews. But the Russians killed more Jews under Stalin. And the Ecconomist once had an articale how more Gypsies were killed then Jews. How [censored] had to make the concentration camps because many refused to kill Jews due to them being God's people. Wish I would have kept the artical.

Don't take it too seriously. Every nation gets mocked to death by others. Just take a look at the number of German, English, French, Irish, Jewish, French and even blonde jokes around. If we can't laugh at ourselves, we might as well jump off the nearest cliff. During my short time on this forum I have seen many pieces of advice you have given to others and every single time, I and others have agreed with you. It would be a sad day indeed if a few misplaced comments were to force you into early retirement. 🙁

Quite true. Best estimates I've seen were that Stalin killed between 25 and 30 million people during his reign of terror.
But that's what happens when you win a war. You get to write the history books, however you see fit.
It's the internet. Yes, sometimes things people say get my blood pumping a little bit, but then I remind myself, it's probably some punk trying to get a rise out of me.

The world is filled with a large variety of personality types. That's the spice of life! You won't get along with everyone irrespective of where you are or what you do. Enjoy those whom you enjoy to the very fullest and ignore those whom you find intolerable. It is possible to sign off of life, but I prefer to live and learn ~ even from the more unpleasant people on the planet. They sometimes can teach you how you would never want to treat another soul. They may also teach you to further appreciate the wonderful people in your life who you may in turn treat more respectfully and never again take for granted. I wrote you can learn a great deal from even the worst of people. I never mentioned you should befriend the heinous. It's possible to observe and learn from such people while keeping your distance from them.😉

I cut myself up pretty badly and am covered with gauze bandages from my shoulder to my leg. If it has to do with anything else, I guess you were just being unnecessarily rude.
