  1. I'm considering moving to Boston for a job...

Looking for thoughts from local racers on topics such as:

    - Given that I'll be working downtown, but knowing about the "T" what's
the best neighborhood/town to try to live in to be able to get to good
training roads quickly? The girl won't put up with me if i move us to a
classic suburb...she needs bars, cool coffee shops, etc.

    - In general, how hard is it to get to out of urbania and onto decent
    training roads?

    - What about hills? Do boston racers have to drive to get to rides with climbs?

I assume there's a healthy local race schedule, i'm just trying to find
out how the deal with the day-day riding and trainig

I've spent most of my money on mountain biking and windsurfing.
    The rest, I've just wasted.

Look at Jamaica Plain. It's on the Orange Line (T), it's multi-cultural
and all too hip, it has more green space than the rest of Boston put
together, and it's in the west part of town -- five miles from quiet
    riding.

If you live right in the city (as I did for ten years in JP), your
typical warm up will consist of dodging cars long enough to get out of
town. The good news is that it's not that far.

New England offers great riding and great racing. Buy a "Rubel" map,
talk to a club or two, and jump in.

And ask about the Hagen ride.

Don't miss the Wells Ave training race stuff at BRC. It's a good low
key way to meet a bunch of local racers.
    For results and regstration:

All are local NE resources and people you'll meet riding and racing
    here.
Tons of good races, rides, and people here. You can get in as deep as
you want to. Be glad to have you here.

Brain dead today. Here's the link to sign up for the regional
listserve. That'd be a great place to make some contacts and ask
    questions.
