    ======================

    Elavil Uses
Elavil is prescribed for the relief of symptoms of mental depression. It is
a member of the group of drugs called tricyclic antidepressants. Some
doctors also prescribe Elavil to treat bulimia (an eating disorder), to
control chronic pain, to prevent migraine headaches, and to treat a
pathological weeping and laughing syndrome associated with multiple
    sclerosis.

    Neurontin Uses
This medicine is used to manage pain in the area affected by herpes zoster
after the disease has been treated. It is also used as part of overall
therapy for the treatment of partial seizures in patients over 12 years of
age with epilepsy and as part of overall therapy for the treatment of
partial seizures in patients 3 to 12 years of age.

    It is STILL repeated.

Bronze it in your brain Orac and STOP lying.

I go by posting history, and it's hard to argue that your posting
history is not overwhelmingly negative (downright vitriolic, even)
towards conventional medicine and therapies. I'll tell you what, Jan.
Let us know how many times you've made posts disparaging conventional
medicine (so many times, I've lost count--and I've seen nowhere near all
the nasty posts you've made). Then let us know how many times you've
made posts praising (or at least remaining relatively neutral towards)
conventional medicine (OK, there's one--the one you cited).

Let's see what the ratio is. I'll bet it's at least 100:1 in favor of
the vitriolic attacks against conventional medicine, if not even higher.

Just because you occasionally post the odd disclaimer or two saying that
you don't "hate" conventional medicine doesn't make up for the dozens
upon dozens of posts in which you gleefully savage "conventional
medicine (nor does calling me a "liar" for pointing it out). In your
post, you made a great show of saying that you didn't hate individual
doctors or consider them evil but that you DID consider organized
medicine "evil." (Of course, I'm not entirely sure what you mean by
"organized medicine." Do you mean the AMA? State Medical Boards? The
academic establishement?) In any case, organized medicine is the face of
    "conventional medicine."

So you like some individual doctors. Goody for you (I'm not so sure if
it's goody for them, however). That's all very nice. But day after day,
month after month, year after year, you infest this newsgroup, launching
attack after attack against "conventional medicine" (or, as you like to
call it, "organized medicine"😉. Moreover, you frequently overlook the
questionable and unproven "treatments" some unscrupulous
alt-practitioners foist upon an unsuspecting public, indeed often
praising them to high heaven, ignoring all the evidence showing them to
be ineffective, clearly wrong scientifically, or even dangerous. Your
pit bull-like defense of Hulda Clark against any criticism is a prime
example. Anyone who has the temerity to point out that there is no
evidence that flukes cause cancer (much less "all" cancer), no evidence
that the zapper does anything biologically relevant, and no evidence
that Hulda has ever truly cured anyone of cancer who hadn't already been
cured with conventional therapy, risks instant attack from you.

So, yes, I stand by my observation. I don't really care if it pisses you
off or not. Your hatred of conventional medicine and therapies has
blinded you to even the most obvious quacks among "alternative"
    practitioners. Quacks like Hulda Clark.

    <cutting to the chase>.

It is apparent that Jan invokes "organized medicine" or "evil
organized medicine" whenever someone says something that is endorsed
by conventional medicine and Jan disagrees with it. You see giving
Ritalin to any child in any case would invoke charges of evil
organized medicine because Jan is against it. Jan will also invoke
organized medicine when someone takes a prescription medication that
Jan deems to be only covering up the problem and not dealing with the
    root of the problem.

Of course when Jan Drew takes Elavil and Neurontin for her peripheral
neuropathy that is fine even though neither is dealing with the root
of the problem and both are just covering up her symptoms and taking
away her pain. Jan can't explain why on earth she is taking medication
that is just covering up her problem, causing side effects, and
leaving her open to problems in the future. After all Jan blames
pharmaceuticals for causing her health problems in the first place.
Now she voluntarily takes more medications that do nothing but cover
up her pain. You see it is OK for Jan Drew to take meds that help her
feel better. When others do it she often ridicules them for taking
something that covers up the problem and does not deal with the root
of the problem. Hypocrisy at its finest.

    That is a REPEATED lie.

    Nope.

And there another. Proving organized medicine people won't believe the truth

That's where everyone takes me wrong. I have often explained that I
appreciate the many dedicated doctors we have and the wonderful technology. NOT
all doctors or medical people are a part of the organization. As a matter of
fact many fight against it and can tell some whoppers. The *organization* itself
is where the evil lies. Read about it in Racketeering in Medicine.

What is so strange about that? I have stated many times the evils of
organized medicine, I have also stated that there are many good dedicated
doctors who carry a hugh responsibility, and THANK GOD for them. My young
    doctor
is very dedicated as is my CRA's hubby who just graduated from med school. Both
will tell you the evils of organized medicine.

My heart goes out to the dedicated medical people, God Bless them.

I can see how you would get that idea for just one post. However previously
Ihave made it plain that I appreciated the great responsibility of
dedicated doctors. It is the *organization* that is the problem. Many doctors
are NOT apart of it, and they will tell you of even more of the evils.

Bad doctors? To answer your question. Yes I would either call 911 or rush the
child to the ER room. And I would greatly appreciated the doctor who could
help my child. Where do you get the idea that I think all doctors are bad? I
have often said there are MANY dedicated doctors who carry a great
    responsibility,,,,,,,,,and THANK GOD for them.

! It is organized medicine that I believe is relentless NOT individual
doctors! I happen to know and APPRECIATE many dedicated doctors.

.. Just reading the history of *organized* medcine is an eye opener.
That certainly doesn't mean that we don't have very good dedicated doctors
that carry a great responsibility. Thank God for them. My concerns are that
there are many good alternative methods that are working, but are not being
accepted because they didn't come from the organization. In reading the history
The ADA tried to buy the methods they knew were working and when the seller
refused, he was told his method would never see the light of day. Then they set
out to ruin him personally One of these stories is about Dr Semmelweis who
introduced hand washing. He got the same treatment. One fair and honest doctor
said, let's give this young man a chance. After taking away his privileges and
trying to ruin him, he was later considered to be one of the best surgeons in
the world. The hesitation on the part of organized medicine cost some lives.

God Bless those many dedicated doctors who carry a great responsibility and
do their best by their patients. The problem is, there is *organized* medicine.
They would like to stop anything alt. and call it BS WITHOUT any proof.

Organized medicine does not mean we don't have very dedicated doctors. It
is much the same as politics. Anyone one who believes it isn't organized
should talk to a new dcotor who has just graduated. Medicine is indeed
    organized mainly for control.

    Quoted message said:

Oh? And you don't lump all pharmaceutical companies together? And '*organized

medicine*'?That's correct, never have. I know a lot of doctors who are NOT a
part of organized medicine. They can tell you even MORE of the evils. And thank
God for dedicated doctors. Perhaps you overlooked that in my posts?

Not by me they're not. I respect good doctors. Many have certainly
earned respect. I have a neighbor who is in his third year of med school. He
isworking very hard and is a great guy. He also believes in alternative.
That's what I like to see.

Agreed! I just hope that both can keep an open mind. Both my Aunt and Uncle
    have
had back and neck surgery and they are doing fine. The surgeon is a great guy
and took time with the family after each operation.

Well you are wrong. I have never said I despised doctors, quite the
contary. Both my Aunt and Uncle recently had necessary surgery and the surgeon
was awonderful man who did a wonderful job.

How very true. For example one might think that I hate all MD's. Not so, I
am grateful for the good ones. My Aunt had back surgery this week. Her surgeon
was wonderful! He drew us a diagram of what he did, and took time for all
our questions. Next day, I called and someone answered. We were cutting up as
hetold me he was Buba.(I didn't know I was talking to the doc) He then said,
Oh yeah this is Jan who is going to clean her house for the next two months.
He had picked up on the teasing of the day before when I told my uncle, that
I DIDN'T do dishes. A really nice guy who did a great job and very down to
earth. Wouldn't it be great if we could know the thoughts behind the words
    here??

I have been in Florida for a while and am not seeing anyone. I will hear
moreabout this when I get home. MY CRA's hubby is now an MD. I have the best
    of both worlds.

    ============================
Please bronze this one Mark as I am quite tired of this untrue accusation.

    argued against immunization.

    but it seems
like she has neglected to read the package insert on her own meds.

    Nope.

    Quoted message said:

    If
she had read it, we'd all be talking about arrhythmias and
cardiomyopathy (Elavil), tumorigenic potential and sudden unexplained
death (Neurontin), and how her EVIL MD is trying to poison her.

My MD is not evil. I would not be taking drugs if I had a choice, as a matter
of fact, I don't believe I would have had a weakended immune sytstem which led
to the problem of the mercury amalgams leaking and causing both mercury
poisoning and PN had it NOT been for the fact that I was on many drugs for
years for my headache. These drugs are WHAT wiped out my immune system.

Then you are fair game to most anything.

    Quoted message said:

    But
then again, if it happens, it'll just be another needless death caused
by the evil and incompetent members of "Organized Medicine"

    000000000000000000000000

A bit of a twist there Mark MD and completely dishonest. The many needless
deaths are mistakes are caused by over worked medicial staff and the fact that
conv, medicine has a piece meal system at best in reporting,,,,,,,,,, and
procedures which kill are STILL being used.
