  1. Hello all of you bikers - I bought a HED 3 wheelset on ebay and it has no skewers. I'm wondering what to buy. I can afford a set of Ti skewers, and are these the best? Well anyway, I'm open to any recommendations for a great set of lightweight and strong skewers. Also, if you have a price on them and a web link of where to buy them then that would be nice! Weight data would be great too! Post your experience with good or bad skewers here too!

Sheldon Brown has a story on skewers at www.harriacyclery.com Search skewer, and read it before throwing down the clams. Mundane old ultegtras are hard to beat but don't make points with weight weenies or poseur's

  3. JTE83, he meant www.harriscyclery.com. Here's the link...

  4. Now that's a good article! Thanks guys!

I see in the 2005 Shimano Bible, Page 228, DA Skewers with internal cams. I'll be ordering a set this week. 😉

This is some good info. I never gave skewers much thought other than weight. I am always looking for some 'bling skewers, but now I'll spend the money on something else, and stick with my standard internal cam Centaur and Ultegra skewers.

  6. I got a Shimano Ultegra Skewer to match my FH-6402 Ultegra hub for $10. 😎
