I'm looking to buy a new bike.....

Well i suppose a light 4 inch full sus xc bike will do most things if you dont race.......

well I bought a 6 year old giant atx 990 for£300 with all top upgrades
fitted wieghs 25 pounds..my advice try before you buy if you can.....
i borrowed it for 2 weeks before buying... most specialized kit is good.

It really depends on where you plan to ride. If you're doing urban riding, parks and well-maintained trails
then a hybrid is the way to go for comfort. I bought a '06 Diamondback Maravista (hybrid) for that type of riding.
I made a mistake and let my wife ride the bike and now she won't give it back.

If you're plan on riding XC then you might want to consider a HT MTB.
