I just bought a '72 Conti 10-speed in great shape. It has the "tourist" type upright handlebars (side levers; no suicide levers), the comfort seat like the Surburban model came with then, and chrome fenders. (my kids refer to it as "an old farts bike". heck, if the shoe fits ...😉 )

Did Schwinn offer this package as original for the Conti, or were the bars & seat changed after original purchase?
All I've been able to find is chrome fenders that were offered as an option (other than frame size & color).
Bought a '72 Suburban new in my college days, and bought this bike because the set-up is so comfortable on long rides.
Any info is appreciated. Thanks.
