I'm just wondering if I'm crazy in thinking that the people that are most aggressive on the roads towards cyclists are Ford/Holden drivers..
Of course I'm not referring to all Ford/Holden drivers .. Maybe just the ones that think that buying a Ford with racing stripes makes them a great driver and will get them an invitation to race at Bathurst last year..
Last week I was cycling down Beach Rd when two guys pulled alongside on their white Holden Commodore and threw their beer out the window at me.. When I caught up with them at the lights it was two guys with not a front tooth between them and bogan beards .. I thought better than to do anything when I noticed that evolution hadn't caught up with these guys yet.. I suppose the lack of front teeth might make it easier for these guys for oral..
Last night I had another Holden driver on Beach Rd try and block me from going past him in the cycle line..
So I'm just wondering if it's maybe Australia's obsession with cars that have oversized engines that causes a lot of agression on the road.. You never hear of a P plater getting caught doing 200kph in a VW Golf on the Hume Highway .. I suppose I can take solace in the fact that these guys are getting shafted with hefty pertrol prices..

I think it's just coincidence. I would say that the most verbal abuse I get (you know the kind..."nice lycra w@nker!"😉 is from 18-25 males, and probably a fair whack of those drive holden's or fords. As for swerving and unsafe driving, that seems to come from just about anyone.
Last night I got side-swiped off the road by a motorbike courier in the CBD. He then almost hit a pedestrian at a crossing. I memorised the number plate and will email the courier company (Snap X) today.

Falcons & Commodores are usually found on five-finger discounts.
RTA once reported of a relitively high % of unregistered cars on our roads recently, seems that it's cheaper to pay the fines when they happen than cough up the $500+ per annum for a fresh window sticker.
Money saved can go towards other necessities like beer......

They're stupid enough to buy a [censored] Australian built car in the first place, so I wouldn't expect too much from them in any other department.
