ALTHOUGH it may not have the nation-wide appeal of, say, the Chicago
White Sox versus the Houston Astros, the Crocodile Trophy Mountain Bike
Race is currently being held over 1400km of tropical rainforest and
arid outback, from Townsville to Port Douglas, over 13 tortuous stages.
This race is recognised as one of the most arduous and exhausting
off-road ultra-distance races in the world. The current race leader is
an Australian, Adam Hansen, a professional road rider. He is leading
from the current world champion marathon cross-country champion, Mauro
Bettin. The world's hierarchy of off-roaders are present. Just thought
I would mention it. Say you read it in The Australian - you won't find
    it anywhere else.

www.cyclingnews.com if nowhere else. One amazing race. No support is allowed during the race. One guy broke a frame, his team mate lent him his bike and then did a bush mechanic job with a bit of wood and some zip-ties.

It's not all bad. There was a 1hr special of last year's Croc Trophy on.. um.. the TV, last year. Someone in Oz knows about it.

In other Oz-dominating matters, an Aussie won the Rollapaluza IV London courier roller race thingie this Saturday just gone.
No, don't be stupid, it wasn't me! 😉
