Well, guess what? Soy may be "bad" for me but it can't be as bad as going
off my low carb diet and running high blood sugars again. I think at some
point a person has to take some reasonable risks and I think eating a
moderate amount of soy products is one I am willing to take.
The "only" food items on the low carb menu I have NOT seen negative articles
about are raw vegetables. I suppose those are next........
Fresh produce and fresh meats. Real food. You know, the stuff that
doesn't come in a box with a label.
Meat from healthy animals fed good nutritious foods, and raised in a
clean environment with access to clean water and clean air is extremely
healthy food. Fish and seafood guarantees freshness. Produce raised
with the minimum of chemicals and fertilizers, and grown in healthy
clean soils.
Beef, chicken, pork, fish are all very healthy foods. There is nothing
wrong with red meat or pork or chicken fat. Soups made from whole
chickens or beef bones are some of the healthiest food ever concocted.
Full of vitamins, minerals, healthy proteins and healthy fats. Real
butter, real cream, real milk. Pork fat rules.
Cook your vegetables. Just don't overcook them. The Irish know potatoes
and they steam them with the skin on, keeping all of the nutrition they
can in the potatoes.
All you need to avoid are the fake foods like tofu, margarine, etc. and
avoid overly processed foods like UHTP milk, pasta, sugars, sodas,
white bread, etc.
Eat fresh healthy foods. Freah meats and produce.
